On 11th of May, the Humanitarian Foundation Rescue, in cooperation with Eclesia Church from Cluj, has organized a special program for women and minors in the Cluj section of the Gherla Penitentiary. 180 women and 14 minors have participated to the program, in the end each of them received a small gift consisting of products for the personal hygiene and food, thanks to the good will of the active volunteers of this program and to Eclesia Church from Cluj.
Impressions
I could say that I was profoundly marked seeing on one hand seeing the women who were showing their suffering, their regrets for the past and the wish to be forgiven, crying and listening with visible interest the God’s word and on the other hand, the women who stood there unmovable and not accepting the fact that they need to be forgiven. But only God knew what was going on in their souls.
While brother Florin Avram was talking to these women, I imagined Jesus standing in their midst looking at them and at us. God’s word is for everyone. That is because we, as well, make mistakes. We seldom do things that hurt the others. How are we better than these women?

What impressed me the most in prison was the way in which the women inside prison wanted to hear more of God’s word. They are aware of their state of being. Just like the people were listening to Jesus, so were the women showing the interest in what they were hearing.

I found it very sad that boys, as young as they were, got in prison. But I also think about their future within the society and about their need to find God so that they could have a real support when they will get out.
