Saturday, June 29, 2013, along with several boys and men from Elim Pentecostal Churches and Emanuel in Cluj, I had the opportunity to go to Aiud, where I wanted to do evangelism less common in football .... Our goal was to get closer to those who are imprisoned there, communicate with them and send them a message of encouragement and hope, a message that Jesus has for them.
Time spent together began with a prayer, which I recognized the goodness of God and I called him to be with us that day. We divided into teams of seven people, consisting of new hosts that we have received. I was glad to see the good cooperation between players of each team during the game of football, it was like we always knew and had a common goal, to become winners. Teams were waiting among the game had some time for discussion. Telling the inmates from Aiud, I had the opportunity to hear many sad stories, events that marked the lives of these people and what they did to get to that place, paying their works with the price of freedom. Beyond the muscles and tattoos, these people are struggling in her heart that wants love, compassion and freedom.
The words that God has given us, I encouraged, we talked about Jesus, the One who has them in his attention, no matter what crime they did, He can forgive and can give a new life and hope in the heart. We shared every New Testaments and I encouraged to read daily from them, because true freedom comes from this message of salvation that Jesus Christ gives.
At the end of football matches, we stayed all and we had a drink and biscuits. We parted wishing them well and encouraging them to seek God.
For me it was a new experience, an occasion in which I had the opportunity to get close to people that in everyday life I would not have had the courage to approach, perhaps due to the hardness which displays outside. No matter how you look outside our appearance, within each man is fundamnetala same need: the need for God.
I was glad that I could take the message of God to these people and when you have the opportunity, I will gladly do it again. Until then I'll wear them in my prayers desire God to have mercy on them and give them salvation!
