"Afterschool" assistance
A social assistance program, which will run throughout the school year 2016-2017, brings us much joy. Over 15 children from seven families in town Sânnicoară, Cluj county, will be helped by the involvement of ladies Stephanie Iancovici and Roxana Cocal.
A social assistance program, which will run throughout the school year 2016-2017, brings us much joy. Over 15 children from seven families in town Sânnicoară, Cluj county, will be helped by the involvement of ladies Stephanie Iancovici and Roxana Cocal.
Each week, from Monday to Friday, between 12:00 and 17:00, these children will be helped by a "afterschool" program. Although the purpose is to prevent school drop, goals that we pursue are divided on several levels. Thus, each meeting begins with acquiring the discipline of thanksgiving, after which we seek to make our own personal hygiene discipline. After the two disciplines, children are offered a hot meal, occasion on which those interested can learn skills in the art of cooking. After eating, we focus on homework, aiming to correct and deepen topics where children have gaps. Finally, we aim to identify those needs that unfulfilled, could lead to school dropout and fulfilling we esure of the progress of these children.
We thank our sponsors from Romania and Denmark, people without whom such assistance programs would not be possible. We pray to the Good Lord to do and supplement what we can not do, but also to reward the goodness of so many collaborators who get involved in helping their neighbors.
